About Us
Simply Put: we’re two girls who love pretty design.
Honestly Put: we’re two PICKY girls who couldn’t find EXACTLY what we wanted in invitation and stationery design, so we found a way to design and produce it ourselves.
It all started with a party (what else?). Haley Ledlow and Marya Green worked together for Birmingham Photographer Amanda Traywick. Haley was the studio manager and Marya handled marketing and sales. Haley was having a cocktail party at her home and planned to use her new Tracy Porter dinnerware and wanted an invitation that featured the same design.

Marya had a self-taught background in graphic design, so Haley approached her with the design she had in mind, and Marya was immediately inspired and got to work. The result was not only a beautiful invitation, but a partnership of two people with a passion for stationery and invitations with high style at a low price.

Shortly thereafter, the idea for The Paperie Pear was set in motion. We spent the next year collaborating designs (the fun part), all the business stuff (the frustrating part in which Haley excels, thank goodness), and designing the perfect website (both fun and frustrating).
You may be asking yourself “Why did they misspell ‘Papery?’” or “The Paper-what?” Well, we do get this a lot, so here’s our official explanation of the name:
A “Paperie” is, simply, a store or business that deals with paper and products made from paper. The English word “Papery” is an adjective that describes something that appears to be made from paper. With our use of “Paperie,” we like it to mean BOTH. So, yes, we’re grammatically incorrect, but doesn’t it sound nice? We also like using “Pear” in two ways: we love the graphic illustration of our pear in our logo – and plus, the two of us (Haley and Marya) started this business, so we’re also a “pair.”
In other words, we’ve put a lot of meaning in our name, as we’ve put a lot of heart, thought and inspiration into our designs.
Our goal is to bring you one-of-a-kind stationery and invitations that you cannot find anywhere else. We do not use “imprintables” by other designers – these are original designs created by us. All of our designs are digitally printed on 30% post-consumer recycled linen cardstock.
We hope you also check out our blog, which tells the story behind the inspiration for our new designs.
Above all, we hope you enjoy our designs and find something new and different for all of your stationery needs.
Thank you!!
Marya Green and Haley Ledlow
